The Curator Journey House of Honey

While our home in the heart of Busselton is being built, our team is busy visiting producers across the state in order to hand pick those traders that will call Origins Market home.

This curation journey is at centre of the Origins Market ethos of bringing together the best local businesses under one roof. WA has some of the finest products and produce in the world and we are committed to giving it a platform to shine on a national and international stage.

Every week we visit local businesses to find the perfect traders to share with you. This is a space where we will regularly share our adventures and get to know the small businesses producing amazing products right here in WA!

Our curator Louise recently visited House of Honey in Hearne Hill, a boutique producer that specialises in raw, unpasteurised varietal honey. By waiting until the bees have capped the hive cells to harvest, this allows the honey to fully ripen into a more intense taste and highest nutritional value. House of Honey also favours using traditional and sustainable farming methods to ensure the health and happiness of the hive.

Of her visit, Louise said “Rupert and Kim (Queen Bee) have done such an incredible job in leveraging the diversity of added value product related to all things honey. We mapped out how to showcase the different honeys from the regions of WA, whilst indulging in a Bee Sting from the Sticky Spoon Cafe. Thanks for your hospitality, so looking forward to the honey journey with you.”
